             Run by the United States based Miss Universe Organization

            Headquartered in New York City, United States.

             President of the Miss Universe beauty pageant- Paula Shugart 

            First Miss Universe ( crowned in 1952)-  Armi Kuusela ( Finland )



Miss Universe from India:

1) Sushmita Sen- (1994)

                  an Indian actress, model, and the winner of the Miss Universe 1994 pageant. 



2) Lara Dutta- (2000)

                 an Indian actress, entrepreneur, and the winner of the Miss Universe 2000 pageant


3) Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu- (2021)

                 21 year old when she was crowned with Miss Universe 

                belongs to a Sikh family from Chandigarh.

                She wore the traditional attire in the national costume segment of the Miss Universe 2021 contest. 

                Abhinav Mishra designed the lehenga

               custom-made umbrella was created by Reza Shariffi. 

                About the choice of costume, She said that "It is a royal visual representation of a woman that showcases the Indian queen, strong yet delicate. Its elements are symbolic towards the protection instinct of a woman."

                The current Miss World is Karolina Bielawska of Poland -crowned by Toni-Ann Singh of Jamaica(Miss World 2019) on March 16, 2022 in San Juan, Puerto Rico
