 Puducherry 

1) Puducherry is a Union Territory of India with 4 exclaved districts
  • Pudhucherry district and Karaikal district (surrounded by Tamil Nadu)
  • Mahe (Surrounded by Kerala)
  • Yanam (Surrounded by Andhra Pradesh)

2)These Four districts retained the borders of French India and were incorporated into the Republic of India after the de facto transfer of the territories of French India in 1954

Angle – 23.5 degree north of equator.  Tropic of Cancer passes through 17 countries and India is one among them. 

Tropic of Cancer crosses Mahi River twice, first in Madhya Pradesh from where it flows towards Rajasthan and enters Gujarat where it cuts for the second time.
